Privacy and cookie policy

1. Data controller
Cinehoy.es is a personal project run by El guiri. For privacy questions, email hellojukka@gmail.com.
2. Summary
Cinehoy does not require an account. We show cinema showtimes in Spain from data collected on our servers. Analytics run in your browser only if you accept cookies; YouTube trailers load only when you press “Trailer”.
3.1 Preferences (localStorage, no tracking cookies)
We store in your browser’s localStorage, on your device only:
- Cookie choice (accept or reject analytics).
- Filter or city preferences when you use them on the site.
3.2 Analytics cookies (optional)
If you press “Accept analytics”, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) with prior consent (Google Consent Mode: analytics denied by default until you accept). It may collect page views, duration, device, traffic source, and approximate location.
If you press “Reject”, analytics storage stays off. You can change your mind via Cookies in the footer (the page reloads and the notice appears again).
3.3 Advertising
This version of the site does not show ads. If we add them later, we will update this policy and the cookie banner to ask for specific ad consent first.
4. Showtime data sources (server)
To show films, cinemas, and times, our systems download and store data from public cinema websites and, where relevant, third-party APIs. We also use TMDB on the server for posters, trailers, and film details; your browser does not call TMDB on every visit.
Cinehoy does not sell tickets or operate cinemas; rights to schedules and films belong to each venue and distributor. Always confirm details on the cinema’s own site.
5. Content your browser loads
5.1 Images and links
While using the site, the browser may request third-party resources (TMDB/CDN posters, cinema ticket links, IMDb). Those domains may log the request. Cinehoy does not control their policies.
5.2 YouTube trailers (on your action)
If you press “Trailer”, we embed a player from youtube-nocookie.com (Google). That happens only after your click. Google may use cookies under its privacy policy.
6. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — analytics cookies and any future advertising.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — showing showtimes from public sources and device preferences.
7. International transfers
Google (Analytics, YouTube) and other providers named here may process data outside the EEA. Google states safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Retention
- Google Analytics: per property settings (e.g. 14 months).
- localStorage: until you clear it or use Cookies in the footer.
- Server showtime caches: refreshed periodically; they do not hold visitor personal data.
9. Your rights
You may access, rectify, erase, object, restrict processing, and withdraw consent by emailing hellojukka@gmail.com, or complain to the Spanish AEPD (aepd.es).
10. Changes
We will publish updates on this page with a new date. If we add advertising or other tracking, we will say so here and in the cookie notice.
